A Gift for a friend

I created this drawing for a friend as a parting gift from my old job. Weird how that works I leave and I give the gifts, oh well. He loved it and appreciates it... that in the end is all that really counts.

Reese Witherspoon - Work in progress

While Reese is perfect this drawing(work in progress) is where I'm at right now, still in a rough stage but moving along. Man... Jason Seiler makes this stuff look easy, but we all know it's hard work. It's fun too.

Celebrity Sketch - Brandon Routh "Superman"

This drawing was done using my wacom 4x6 tablet. I did the sketch with pencil and then scanned it in to work the color in digitally. The process is clean and fun with no color spills or splatter. Brandon Routh was the perfect choice to continue the superman name.

My First Professional Live Drawing Gig

My first gig... turned out great. I couldn't have done it without the help of friends like:

Adrian Cabezas who considered me to replace him.
• The members of the ISCA who helped prepare me(without even knowing it) with the tons of great advice shared on the forum.
• And my new friends at Mismatch the Clown who I rode along with on their annual event.

I had the honor of drawing at the annual event of Chillin' with Adam, such a great cause.

Happy Birthday - Ken

This drawing was done for a birthday gift, the style I was after in this drawing was similar to that of my favorite artists Tom Richmond. I used alot of the techniques he shares in his tutorials. The sketch was drawn on paper then scanned in to work the colors digitally. This was one of those "word of mouth" projects that came from the birth of a recent project I completed.

Lou Meets Joe Bluhm

Yesterday I got the chance to meet up with one of the greats...Joe Bluhm. My wife and I met him at the New York Comic Con on friday. Man, what a great guy he is! He is at the New York Comic Con(booth 2341) all weekend promoting himself and other artists through books and live sketching. I had a great time and so did my wife.

Joe drew my wife and she absolutely loved it.

Happy New Year!

My focus is to draw more, have fun and continue learning. Here is another rough sketch of some hopefully recognizable actors.
